PTSO General Membership Meeting

● Call the meeting to order – 7:07pm

● Guests:

■ Foster parenting needs in the community. Foster parenting is different
than adoption.
■ Interested in ways to spread the word about the need to the community.
○ South County High School Librarians
■ Emily Strong & Ronielle Romney
● Students can access the library from 7:30am to 3:15pm (also
during Stallion Time and lunch). Shared library information and
services; community service (knitting hats and making pet
blankets) opportunities available. Just this last week, kids made
18 pet blankets!
● Online Library Resources: Schoology Library Course (with google
link that may be accessed). ProQuest Central Student has the
Washington Post and New York Times in it. There is a wide
collection of newspapers and magazines that are updated daily. A
great resource! Britannica Image Quest has artwork, pictures, clip
art and includes citations. Librarians will proofread essays and
help with academic work.
● General:
○ We have 257 members to-date (faculty 72).
○ Encourage your friends to support PTSO by becoming a member.

○ Review and approve general membership meeting minutes from May & Sep
2025 meeting [Motion to approve May & Sep 2025 meeting minutes; passed
unanimously.]
● Principal Notes:
○ Thank PTSO for the generous support: teacher gift cards at faculty meetings;
snack bags; class projects ongoing; pep rallys; honor roll recognition; and
posters.
○ Next week is a 2-day school week. Off school starting Wednesday. In school til
18 December. Break through 5 January.
○ Potato tABLE. Potato bar with each kid serving condiments to teachers. Allows to
demonstrate skill and develop social skills. Wonderful opportunity for the kids.
(December 12, and then again one-time in Spring).
○ Semi-finals for Regionals tomorrow, November 21.
■ Scanners to enter the game.
○ Winter sports practices began.
● Budget:
○ Treasurer report, data as of November 19, 2025 was distributed (see attached).
Discussion focused on:
Fundraising for ANGP – so far, raised $24,244.91
Purchase of gift cards for Honor Roll Bags $500 (100 gift cards/$5 each)
● Upcoming Events
○ The 20 th Annual Holiday extravaganza will be Saturday, 6 Dec 2025
■ We need ALL of the support we can muster to make this an amazing
event. Please sign up! We need parents and students to help.
■ Great mix of vendors and variety.
■ Student volunteers get food on Friday night.
