Call to Order by SCHS President at 7:03pm
2. Minutes: Review/approval of minutes from October 28, 2019 meeting • Unanimously approved with no modifications 3. Officers’ Reports • President’s Report • Membership meeting guests/speakers (Karen Corbett, SAT Prep Speaker) ▪ At the next meeting in February, Karen Corbett Sanders and Laura Jane Cohen from the School Board will come to speak
Treasurer’s Report • Report as of 12/31/19 ▪ Tickets for ANGP are on sale on the website, haven’t seen much activity yet.
The group estimated that the Holiday Extravaganza made $18,000 in profit. Increasing the vendor fees was discussed for the following year.
Lots of positive feedback about the Book Emporium. The crew team made about $900 and the Swim/Dive team made about $600 from their activities at the Holiday Extravaganza.
SCHS won a contest with the SAT Prep company “Learn the Playbook” of $1000 4. Classroom/club support requests
The following actions taken by the Board since the last meeting were ratified:
• Beckmann/Spanish language magazine/$229
• Edgington/Classroom library/$200
• Price/Writing Days author expenses/$750
The following additional request was unanimously approved
for Black Student Alliance request for banner funding (up to $200).
5. Committee Reports: • SCHS Baccalaureate is scheduled for June 2, 2020, although the gowns are not scheduled to be in by this date. • Holiday Extravaganza: 2,350 people were in attendance, which was about a 35% increase, with about 170 vendors. The increase in attendance was attributed to extra marketing at Giant, increased Facebook advertising, and students outside physically advertising with neon arrows/hats.
• SCHS PTSO Membership is down this year, ideas were discussed how to increase numbers in the second half of the year. Online Directory coming soon! • Golf Tournament: An idea is floating around between SCHS PTSO and Athletic Boosters
