BC of covid and unknowns we will keep the budget the same unless there are specific changes later.

ANGP – All Night Grad Party
Explanation of ANGP – 11pm – 5am for safe, drug and alcohol free place to celebrate for seniors
At the St. James – same date as 2022 graduation, ice skating, rock wall, bingo, casino, movie, corn hole, all sports…
Deposited $5k, will have a date once we know graduation date

Lorton Craft Fair – Sept 25

Flocking – pink flamingos in the yard
Grad Seat Raffle – senior parents only, raffle for 10 seats so a family can have seats reserved 3 for $25
First ANGP meeting 7pm, Wed Sept 15
Need Volunteers – sign up for fundraising events on table and event sign up in May
Renee Flynn – is POC for ANGP
Fall Festival Craft Fair Sept 25 – outdoor in front parking lot, 53 paid vendors, swim & dive fun run for santa, book emporium, photo op with Santa social distance, Peggy Shahin with myyardsigns, food trucks.
Need Volunteers – signup genius in next 3 days, volunteer hours for kids, largest fundraisers to support ANGP, come shop or volunteer

Question: another craft fair in December – smaller event hopefully will still happen

Military Connections – Laura Gedra and Elena Jordon
Carrington and Ohlmeyer are sponsors for Military Youth Connections
Sept 11 event – service, cleaned out gardens, Silverbrook Nursery donated Mulch, service for 1 hour and ceremony and connecting over barbecue all in tribute to those who have served and sacrificed.
Activity Flyer – Meet this Friday Sept 17 in Ms. Ohlmeyer’s room
Membership Chair – no chair, 211 members, staff/students/parents 2021-22
Some are still active until September 30 2021 so memberships need to be renewed.
Open to how to increase membership, focus on connections and relationships.
Open to suggestions for PTSO – new mission statement, we want to hear what the community wants from SCHS. Working with Mr Morris and Leadership class on a staff rep and student rep.
Mr. Morris
Ask Staff for retention – 1 or 2 in June to retire, then 35 left (retired or moved)
Turnover is a reflection of his Leadership, 5 or 6 decided not the right place. Others just had other options. Able to recruit other staff.
1 ½ positions open – Elective Classes – auto tech & engineering
COVID cases have lessened since first week. Important for parents to keep kids home if they don’t feel well. Most cases have happened off campus.
Admin Team – trying to focus on kids, Connection is most important – SOCO family
PTSO Membership is necessary because it’s a lot of work and voices need to be heard.
Robust Club environment, encourage passion, encourage them to be involved so their voices can be heard.
New administrator – Claudia Jones from Robinson
Be patient – county responds to parents, want all kids to be successful – our goal, kids who are struggling will be helped. If something isn’t going well, email Mr. Morris and let him know. Let your voice be heard – for positive or constructive feedback.
Another Position Open – hire a COVID Case Manager (contact tracer) $29/hour – during school hours minimum, work with administrators, and clinic staff. Email Mr Morris for more information or interest.
Emma Jordan Kids Fighting Cancer -
Friday – Football Gold Out, Youth Night to benefit Emma Jordan Kids Fighting Cancer (started in 2009) given 78K in research and helping families.
28th Field Hockey Gold out
30th Volleyball Gold Out
Lorton craft show – pumpkins for a donation to decorate
Will sell shirts for $10

Golf Tournament – partnership with Boosters on OCT 4, checkin at 1130am, volunteer at 10am, registration 1130-1pm, sell tickets for raffle 11-1, evening shift 5-7pm, sell tickets 530-7.

Basket or items, wine, cigars, beer, golf themed, game night, movie night themed baskets
