o Treasurer report
 Increases due to ANGP fundraising. Tickets increased by $2100. Donations in the
past month for $800; graduation seat raffles $600 (sales only to end of week); lawn
signs $200.
 PTSO paid for Recognition Events to support school, clubs, and Teachers.
 Budget Meeting is 17 June at 6:30pm – revisit budget and present to the community
when school starts.

o Updates:

o PTSO is purchasing two water fountains for the school
o Securely update
 Classroom Management. System students use to leave class (hall pass) to go to
bathroom, or for any reason they leave. From teacher perspective, it controls
number of students in hallways; etc.
 Many teachers use it (Dr. K gets the reports and can see the utilization rates).
 Limits up to 50 kids in the hallway at a time.
 Security has Securely and can access.
o Every high school in FCPS is getting weapon detectors. SCHS is getting 6 sets. Office of Safety
and Security will be here on first day of installation to ensure that we are following
procedures correctly.
 Purpose to stop guns from coming in schools. Programmed to detect gun handles. If
turn up sensitivity, may catch more things. Need to work on how to get kids
through.
 Doors 1 and 12. School will get a notice at 7:30am on the day they come.
 If come in through day, student and/or adult, will go through screener.

o Dates:
 Saturday, May 31 Prom
 June 4 th 7pm Graduation (10:30am release for all kids this day)
 June 5 th early release dates (11:17am) until June 10 th ; June 11 th (10:15am)
 Kids may have to keep laptops all summer. Planning laptop collection starting June
5 th – period they have English. Senior collection starts May 27 th - period they have
English.

After the meeting closed, the Board discussed a grant request:
o Technology Student Association
o Student Technology Conference in TN
o $500 from the Programs and Facilities
The Board approved to fund the grant request.
